How Smart Resume Analyzer handles your resume and your data.

A resume contains personal and career-sensitive information, so this page says plainly what happens to it: where it goes when you upload it, what stays in your browser, which cookies the site uses, and how to change your choices.

In short

Your resume is processed, not kept

Uploads are written to a temporary file so the text can be extracted, then removed. We do not keep a copy of your resume on our servers or build a profile from it.

We do not sell your data

Your resume and personal information are not sold, rented, or shared with recruiters.

Analytics and ad cookies wait for you

Google Analytics and advertising cookies do not load until you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time.

What we process

Your resume: the file you upload or the text you paste, the text extracted from it, and the section and keyword signals used to produce your results. This is used only to return your analysis.

Usage data: page views, the tools you use, browser and device type, and error information, collected through analytics once you have accepted cookies, and through Vercel's cookie-free page-view measurement.

Messages you send us: anything you write through the contact page or by email, used to reply and to fix problems you report.

What it is used for

Extracting text from your file so it can be analysed.

Producing ATS readability checks, keyword feedback, scores, rewrites and cover letters.

Finding and fixing errors, poor extraction, and slow pages.

Understanding which guides and tools are useful, so the site can be improved.

Where your resume goes

Selectable text is extracted on our server from a temporary file that is removed once extraction finishes. If a document is a scan and needs text recognition, it is sent to the OCR.space service for that step.

AI processing

When a tool uses AI, the relevant resume text is sent to a language-model provider: Hugging Face inference providers, Groq, Cohere, or Mistral when enabled. We do not log your resume text or the generated output. Each provider applies its own retention terms, and we cannot guarantee zero retention on their side.

What stays in your browser

Saved resume versions, your latest analysis, job tracking and outcome history are stored in this browser, in IndexedDB and local storage. They are not uploaded, not synced between devices, and are removed when you clear site data. Exported backups contain personal information, so store them somewhere safe.

Essential

The site stores your cookie choice and your saved work in your browser so it can remember them. These are needed for the site to work and are not used for tracking.

Analytics

If you accept, we use Google Analytics to measure which pages and tools are used. It does not receive your resume. We also use Vercel Analytics, which measures page views without cookies.

Advertising

The site may show advertising served by Google AdSense. Where ads are shown, Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Advertising cookies do not load until you accept.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or through aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses data from sites that use its services on its partner sites page.

Your choices and rights

You can stop using the site at any time, reject cookies, or clear the data stored in your browser.

You can ask what information we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Because uploaded resumes are not kept, the only thing we usually hold is a message you sent us.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have the rights of access, correction and deletion that local law gives you. Use the contact page and we will respond.

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, we update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.

We do not sell personal data. If that ever changed, it would be stated here directly and would require your consent.
