Summary

UX designer with five years designing web and mobile products for B2B and consumer teams. Leads with research, works closely with engineers, and measures success by whether users complete the task they came to do.

Experience

UX Designer - Personal finance app, Atlanta2021 - Present

  • Ran 24 moderated usability sessions on the onboarding flow, found that 60% of testers stalled at bank linking, and redesigned the step, lifting completion from 52% to 71%.
  • Built user journey maps and information architecture for a redesign of the account area, cutting the average number of taps to common tasks from five to three.
  • Partnered with two engineers to specify and test an accessible component set of 30 patterns in Figma, reducing design-to-build clarification questions by roughly half.
  • Defined a lightweight research cadence with product management, moving the team from ad hoc feedback to a fortnightly insight review that shaped three roadmap decisions in two quarters.

Junior UX Designer - Digital product agency, Atlanta2018 - 2021

  • Delivered wireframes and prototypes for 15 client projects across e-commerce and healthcare, from discovery through handoff.
  • Conducted 20+ stakeholder interviews and competitive reviews that shaped the scope of six product proposals.
  • Introduced usability testing to a team that had previously relied on internal opinion, testing 40 participants across the first year.

Weak bullets, rewritten

The most common ux designer bullets and what a stronger version looks like. Each rewrite adds the thing the weak version leaves out.

Before

Conducted user research to inform design decisions.

After

Interviewed 12 customers and found that most abandoned setup at the permissions step, which led me to redesign it and raised completion from 48% to 67%.

Why it works: The rewrite runs the full chain from method to finding to decision to result, in the first person.

Before

Created wireframes and prototypes in Figma.

After

Prototyped three checkout flows in Figma and tested them with 15 users; the winning design cut steps from six to four.

Why it works: The weak bullet lists artefacts. The rewrite shows they were used to make a decision.

Before

Collaborated with cross-functional teams.

After

Ran a weekly design-and-engineering review that cut post-handoff design questions from about 30 a sprint to about 10.

Why it works: Collaboration only counts as evidence when it changes a measurable thing.

Once your own version is written, run it through the ATS parser to confirm your titles and dates come through in order, then compare it with the posting using resume job match.

The onboarding bullet

It contains the full research-to-result arc: a method (24 moderated sessions), a finding (60% stalled at bank linking), a design decision and a measured effect. Few UX resumes show all four.

The journey mapping bullet

Outcome measured in taps, which is a real, checkable usability metric. It shows the information architecture changed behaviour, not only looked tidier.

The component set bullet

It proves collaboration with engineering, which most hiring managers cite as the deciding factor between two similar designers.

The research cadence bullet

It shows influence beyond craft: changing how the team makes decisions. This is what moves a designer toward senior scope.

The portfolio link

Placed in the contact line, because for design roles the portfolio does the persuading and the resume exists to earn the click.

UX resumes fail by describing process instead of impact. Everyone did research, wireframes and testing; what a hiring manager cannot see is which decisions were yours and what changed for users. The example below is built around specific problems found, decisions made, and results measured, and it keeps the layout plain enough for a screening system to read.

Recommended Workflow

Step 1

Reorder by product type

A B2B role wants complex workflows and research with expert users; a consumer role wants growth and onboarding. Lead with the closer match.

Step 2

Match the tooling and methods named

If the posting names design systems, accessibility or quantitative research and you have done them, place them in the relevant bullet.

Step 3

Check the wording

Compare the resume with the posting using the job description keyword finder and see which research terms are missing.

Common Mistakes This Page Can Help You Catch

Presenting deliverables as results

A count of screens, prototypes or flows delivered describes output. Reviewers want to know which of them changed a decision or a number, so lead with the one that did and drop the tally of the rest.

Describing process instead of impact

"Conducted user research and created wireframes" is every designer's job. The bullet worth reading names what research found and what changed.

A visually elaborate resume

Sidebars, icons and skill bars can turn a resume into noise for a screening system. Keep the resume plain and let the portfolio carry the visual work.

No individual contribution

Say what you decided, not what the team did. "We redesigned onboarding" hides your part; "I redesigned the bank linking step" shows it.
